i found out who my spoiler has been for the last three months...it's cindi from www.stickstickstring.blogspot.com - i received my final package from her today and it's awesome...here's a pic of the great thoughtful gifts that she sent (that totally made my day, by the way...more on the crappiness before the package later):

now, about the crappy before the gifties...had to take tuesday afternoon off work for an appointment w/ my dentist to get a crown on a lower molar that's been giving me grief for a couple years. this appointment was made after going to the dentist two weeks ago for a cleaning and explaining that the already twice-refilled molar has been hurting on and off since the start of this dental debacle. so i get to the appointment, nervous as can be (i hate going to the dentist...they can never give me enough novacaine and i spend the whole time crying my eyes out from the pain while the dentist apologizes over and over again), just for him to tell me that due to the ongoing sensitivity, he feels it better that i go to see a specialist about a possible root canal...hello?! couldn't he have come to that conclusion before i had to take time off work?! so i leave there, call the specialist, and make an appointment for today. meanwhile, i've had a nasty cold brewing since last weekend and it decided to rear it's ugly head tuesday night. called in sick for work on wednesday and spent the ENTIRE day in bed, sleeping, too sick to knit :( went to my appointment w/ the endodontics spec. this morning, got a root canal, as expected, and it actually was much less painful than i thought. i wouldn't say it was pleasant, but at least after the second dose of novacaine, i didn't feel the pain of drilling and whatever else he was doing in there. i left in time to make it to work late, but decided to call in sick again, cuz now the cold is draining all sorts of gook into my throat, causing me to choke every two seconds, made worse by the numbed mouth and not being able to swallow properly. yuck...crappy two days.
however, the tooth is doing ok now and the cold is better, or at least getting better, so i'm heading back to work in the morning..just in time for friday - TGIF! :)
