not too shabby, if u ask me

You Are 76% Healthy

Your diet is quite healthy, but you don't too crazy with what you eat.
You know how to eat what's good for you, but you're also careful not to deprive yourself.

Thanks for the link, ZantiMissKnit! How'd everyone else measure up?

Poncho Pattern, by request : )

by the way, i meant to include this as a link in the last post and forgot, so for anyone who was interested, here's the poncho pattnern and i'm using lionbrand thick & quick instead of the chunky it calls for. it's a very easy pattern and can't wait to cozy up in my warm poncho (that is, if i finish it before spring haha).
here's a pic of the lace pattern, closeup...

who's the culprit? (is this a knitting or pug blog?!)

so lately things w/ the pugs have been pretty good. they are both playing much nicer (still crazy, but not so mean) and dublin takes every opportunity to curl up with her big sister guinness...

dublin is becoming more and more lovable by the day, sweeter and more trustworthy...or so i thought.

so today is my day to hang out w/ the girls by myself as jason went to cedar point with his friend (hope they are staying warm as it's about 47 degrees and they are on the lake in the wind...no thanks!). normally, the living room is blocked off from the dogs by a nice puppy gate/pen thing that we bought w/ the gift cards from my lunch bunch friends when they threw me a puppy shower back in july (and it was a great purchase, i might add!). sometimes we move the gate and let them come in and watch tv with us. well, today they were both sleepy as can be, so i let them in to curl up and snooze on the couch...

i went to the kitchen to make a big pot of my favorite "taco soup" (a southwestern chili...it's the perfect weather for it) and left the girls to sleep on the couch together.

my bad...when i peeked back in on them, to my horror, i found this...

ok, so not exactly that. in addition was a little black puppy w/ her mouth attached to my poncho yarn! i didn't think it wise to leave her there while i snapped a picture of the guilty party in action, so this was after i reprimanded and promptly locked out of the living room...

after spending the next 15 minutes finding the end of the yarn and winding it into a ball, i realized that all dublin was trying to do was spark my interest in my somewhat forgotten poncho project...what a good puppy ;)

speaking of poncho, here are a couple pics of it in progress, as promised in an earlier post...

cutest lil peanut ever!

remember the spring green baby blanket that i knitted out of homespun on the diagonal for our friends chris and carrie's baby shower in august? if not, check out this post.
well, i can't remember if i posted or not, but carrie had a beautiful baby boy on sept 24th...here's a pic of lil mr cameron parker on this green blankie...isn't he such a cutie patootie?!

please pardon the poor quality photo...i accidentally changed the settings on my camera while i was snapping away last night during our visit w/ the baby and new mommacita and paparino at their home, so most of the pics turned out grainy or something :( oh well - guess i'll have to go take some more real soon!!

miscellaneous post

hi all - been missing for awhile i guess...busy, lazy...u know the routine.

still working on a bazillion projects, including the poncho (not much progress...photos to come, i swear), wallaby sweater (nothing much to see...working away on the boring st st in the round...no pics until i have some real progress on this ltp {long term project...don't know if i made that abbreviation up lol}), a secret project (hey, you never know who reads this thing!), a couple baby bibs from Mason Dixon Knitting (pics of a couple finished ones below, which were given to my friend carrie when i went to the hospital to see her and her husband chris' new pride and joy, cameron parker - such a stinkin' cutie pie!!) and my Greys Anatomy scarf for this Kal (picture of my project below). definitely a case of knitters ADD haha

in other news, i've decided to go back to school! i'm 28 and took the ever-popular "year off" after high school and of course, never made it back. in fact, my husband (who did the same thing essentially) and i love the magnet on our refrigerator that reads "oh shit, i forgot to go to college." and have never really cared too much about that fact of our lives...i found a pretty decent job that i don't mind and don't have any real desire to find something else anytime soon. however, i've been thinking that i should try to take a few courses and maybe go for some kind of associates or ba degree in business, since my company will reimburse me for those types of classes. anyway, i decided enough talking...let's get to the doing! so i applied at a community college in the area and will take my assessment tests next week to see where i'm at (since it's been 10 yrs since school, afterall) so i can register for one or two VERY basic courses of math or english. we'll see how this all works out...i'm super excited to be going to school and am nervous as heck, but i think it will be good for me to do something that's just for me. i'll keep u posted :)

and in even other news, today was our pug meetup group's halloween party. we took guinness and dublin, who dressed as "sisters" in cute pink t-shirts that read "princess" in pretty silver letters. we didn't want to do the whole costume thing w/ dubs still being a crazy pup who wants to rip off anything we put on her. below see a pic that we took the other day of guinness in her costume from a couple years ago, when she went as a "ladypug" : ) (and sorry for all the "see belows", but this blogger stinks for adding multiple pics and moving them around to fit where u want them to be...i'm much too lazy to be bothered w/ the whole annoying process haha.)

that's all for now...hope all is well out there in blog land and i will try to update soon w/ some pics of the poncho and some other fo's. ttfn!

bibs

grey's kal scarf (seed stitch w/ lion brand worsted and sz13 needles...co 13, k1p1 every row)

guinness as a "ladypug"...not looking very happy lol
