Mother of the year, spotted in the Cleveland area

Oh man, do I wish I had a pic to go along w/ this short post. DH and I were driving home from Chipotle (love me a veggie burrito bowl w/ guacamole!) when we spotted two kids (youngish, probably 7 and 9) on scooters, carrying plastic grocery bags, each w/ a plastic grocery bag on their head! It was drizzling, but I freaked out and said to my husband "Don't those kids know never ever ever to put a plastic bag on their head, even if it is keeping their hair dry??!". I was so worried and thought about stopping to tell them that it wasn't safe. That's when DH stopped me to point out their mother (or I assume it was their mother) w/ another scooter kid following her, also wearing a plastic bag on his head as rain protection. Nice. Wait -- it gets better. While the third boy was fumbling w/ this scooter and grocery bags, his bag-hat must have caught wind and floated off his head. What do you suppose happened next? You got it, folks...mom bent down, picked up the bag-hat and PLACED IT BACK ON HIS HEAD!! I was like "omg, if only I had a video of that"...I no more than ended that sentence when another one of the kids' "hats" fell off and she proceeded to do her motherly duty of picking it up and placing it back on her head. Seriously??

I'm sorry to say it doesn't surprise me...you should see the things I see mothers do while I drive my kids to and from school. I get very upset, but what can you do...just hope and pray nothing bad happens. You'll be a wonderful mother some day :)
