finally caught up and do you remember?

so i've been totally behind on my blog reading (and posting, but i've already discussed that). so much so that i had something like 135 posts to read. this morning i woke up before the puppies and the hubby and decided to clean out my email inbox as well as my bloglines backlog. i had to skip over a ton, but i'm finally caught up and can start reading current posts instead of obsessing over the tons that i haven't gotten to yet. what a good feeling!

now for the do you remember portion...mark had an interesting post the other day and i thought i would post about it as well to see what others have to say about the topic. one of his readers asked what his earliest childhood memory was, which i thought would be an easy thing to write about. however, as i started thinking about it, i realized how not easy it would be for me. unlike some, my parents didn't have an kind of video camera when we were kids, so i don't have any home movies to watch, but my mom did take tons of pictures and like most families, we talk about old times alot when we get together. so when i try to think of my earliest memory, i'm not sure if what i'm thinking about is from my memory, or just regurgitated from stories i've been told.

the memory i'm thinking of (there are two, but only one i'll share) is from when i was two years old and was jumping on the bed, fell off and hit the corner of a dresser or nightstand and had to get stitches. i have a scar to prove that the event happened, and i've heard about it, but i swear i remember the pink blanket that was on the bed and getting told to stop by my mom when she walked in carrying a laundry basket. i think i remember falling, but that's it. i'll have to ask my mom if she remembers these details to confirm if i'm remembering them or making them up or what.

anyway, just thought it was interesting. does anyone else want to share their earliest childhood memory?

I have a feeling all early childhood memories involve pain :)

I was in the car with my mother driving and my Nana was in the passenger seat. I was sitting between the two of them in the car. Well, my mom stopped short and my head hit the dashboard. I had a huge bump on my forehead. My Nana passed away when I was 4, so I don't know how old I was but it was way before the age of 4.

Don't stress out about keeping up with posts. I think we are all in the same boat :)

Doesn't it feel good to clear out sometimes!!

My earliest childhood memory was on my 3rd b-day. I rember standing by my mom she was at the sink peeling carrots, asking if I was 3 yet.
