This morning in the shower, I somehow lost my nose ring. It’s the teeniest lil diamond (fake, of course) stud, and it fell out and must have washed right down the drain.
Now, I’ve had my nose pierced for years and this is the first time I’ve had this happen, but I knew it would close quickly, so today’s family excitement was set to be a trip to the tattoo parlor for a new one. Since Sundays are our only day with The Hubs home from work, we decided we would all go together, just so we could spend the whole day together as usual.
Clearly my kids can’t make their first trip to the tattoo shop wearing regular ol’ cute kids clothes, so I decided to pick out their ‘coolest’ duds for the adventure. Cooper wore his skull hoodie and skater jeans with a pair of converse hi-top socks to complete the ensemble and Ashlyn wore her hot pink fleece pants and I <3 Music tee.. very punk rock, if you ask me.
And since they were both wearing fun clothes, I decided to whip out my camera and try to get a cute ‘together’ pic to post on my Facebook page. Well, Cooper was very cooperative…
But Ashlyn? Not so much…
And that picture sums up her attitude for the rest of the flipping day…total terrible two terror!
So I gave up and we loaded them up in the car and on our way. I ended up getting a replacement fake diamond stud, as well as a new pink one (used to have a pink one but no clue what I did w/ it in the years that I’ve been wearing the diamond one) and a blue one for fun (they were really cheap). Successful trip (although let it be known that the kids actually waited in the car with The Hubs, so the outfits were just for my own fun haha), followed by a quick stop at Target for a return and some milk. Ashlyn was allowed to walk as long as she held Daddy’s hand, which she eventually refused to do, ended up screaming in the cart, Daddy gave in and took her out.. rinse and repeat. More tantrums and this time in public.. fun fun fun. NOT.
She did redeem herself after we got home and had some lunch…
Meanwhile, Cooper begged me not to ruin his bad-@$$ persona by showing what he had on under his punk outfit…
And there you have it.. a day in the life of the pouty punk rock kid and her pink-diaper-wearing bro. It’s all good in the ‘hood ;)

Sorry the day didn't go as you had planned! Ashlyn is so adorable..and I won't tell anyone about Coopers pink disper. I have to confess my boys wore hand-me down pink and purple stretchy suits when they were infants. No long lasting damage ;)
But Jen, Pink is the new black AND Real men WEAR pink, so he's totally with the times....confident in his own manhood for sure! GO COOP!
